This past weekend, Bob and I went to Whitefish Montana. We were blessed to be able to stay with our friends Richard and Marianne. We got to know them when we in Bible Study together from October to January with our friends, Cathy and Kevin. Also Rich is a chiropractor and so both Bob and I have been seeing him and it seems to be helping Bob's back so that is good!
When Rich found out that Bob and I were planning to go away for the weekend, he invited us to stay at their place. They have a house here in Lethbridge as well as one in Whitefish. It was such a nice relaxing weekend. (It was a long weekend because of the Family Day holiday here in Alberta.) We were also blessed to be able to attend their church on Saturday night. They have three locations in Montana and the one we went to was in a old movie theater. Church started at 6:30 on Saturday night, Rich told us we had to get there about 5:30 to make sure we got a seat. One thing that was awesome to see was when we got to the movie theater there were already people lined up! How awesome that people actually line up to go to church, it was an awesome sight! The service was really good, both Bob and I enjoyed it.
On the drive to and from Montana, I couldn't help but take pictures of the mountains! No matter how many times I see them, I am just always in awe of their beauty. I took so many pictures with my phone and decided to pick the best three. I hope you enjoy the beauty as much as I did! God's beauty in all of creation.
The Alberta highway, getting close to the mountains.
Beautiful mountains in Montana, a little more snow than southern Alberta.
On the way home, two days later and it had snowed a little over the weekend so the trees were all lightly covered in snow. So beautiful :)
The one song that I always feel like singing when I see God's beautiful creation.
How Great Thou Art
Lord my God! When I in awesome wonder
Consider all the works thy hand hath made,
I see the stars, I hear the mighty thunder,
Thy power throughout the universe displayed;
Then sings my soul, my Saviour God, to Thee,
How great Thou art, how great Thou art!
Then sings my soul, my Saviour God, to Thee,
How great Thou art, how great Thou art!
When through the woods and forest glades I wander
and hear the birds sing sweetly in the trees;
when I look down from lofty mountain grandeur,
and hear the brook, and feel he gentle breeze;
And when I think that God his son not sparing,
Sent him to die - I scarce can take it in,
That on the cross my burden gladly bearing,
He bled and died to take away my sin:
When Christ shall come with shout of acclamation
And take me home- what joy shall fill my heart!
Then I shall bow in humble adoration
And there proclaim, my God, how great thou art!
Then sings my soul, my Saviour God, to Thee,
How great Thou art, how great Thou art!
Then sings my soul, my Saviour God, to Thee,
How great Thou art, how great Thou art!
